Our pottery is designed to last many lifetimes, incorporating universal design principles. Our sculptural work, ranging from intimate installations to large-scale statement pieces, is designed to ground and enhance the space it inhabits. Driven by a passion to honor the beauty within every being and every corner of the world, we envision our objects bearing witness to events large and small – artwork designed for every single day of your life.  In doing so, we aim to tread lighter on our planet, invest in craftsmanship, celebrate creativity, and demonstrate unwavering respect for our fellow humans and our environment.

Our Process

How We Work

At Lauren HB Studio, every project begins with an idea shaped by space, material, and intent. We approach clay as both medium and collaborator—balancing control with surrender, precision with subtlety.

For sculpture and commissions, the process is intuitive and exploratory. Hundreds of handmade elements may be arranged into layered compositions, or a single form may evolve through direct manipulation. Surfaces are considered with equal care: burnished, textured, or glazed to reveal depth and tactility.

While clay, especially porcelain, remains central to the practice, we also work across materials as projects require—bringing in fabric, metal, or other elements to expand scale and presence. Alongside this work, the studio continues to offer a focused collection of vessels, each designed with the same attention to form, surface, and presence.

The throughline across all making is intention: concept refined through craft, resulting in works that transform how a space feels and how people move within it.

In Practice, the Work Reveals Itself.

PERSONAL PRACTICE
Making art is a practice. In the studio, I follow curiosity—researching, experimenting, and exploring how clay and other materials respond to touch, pressure, and fire. A surface, a fragment, or a form found in nature can spark a new direction. Through layering and repetition, the work slowly reveals itself. This studio practice allows me to move between scale, materials, and ideas that evolve over time.

SHARED GROUND
Whether born of personal practice or client collaboration, the process is rooted in reverence for material and trust in transformation. Research, exploration, and time leave their mark. What remains are works that witness, shift, and endure within a space.
